White quartzite kitchens
White and cream quartzite has become the most-requested stone in our shop over the last few years. It's got the marble look, handles kitchen acids without etching, and holds up to real daily use. These are kitchens we've actually built for Midlands homeowners.
The look, in a few rooms
These are illustrative rooms we generated to show how the stone reads in a space. They are not photos of specific Rocky Tops installs. For our real, completed work, see the project gallery.

Quartzite
Often white or cream with dramatic grey or gold veining. Taj Mahal quartzite is the iconic example. Visual feel of marble with a harder, more crystalline surface.
Sealing is not optional: quartzite is porous enough that unsealed surfaces will absorb oils and liquids. Seal on installation, re-seal once or twice a year. We show every customer how before we leave.
- Buyers who want the marble look without acid-etching risk
- Kitchen islands where pots land directly on the surface
- Bathroom vanities where standing water is a risk
- Taj Mahal
- Mont Blanc (Super White)
- Sea Pearl
Quartzite must be sealed. This is the one we repeat most often at the shop: unsealed quartzite will stain. The sealing itself is easy and inexpensive, but it cannot be skipped.
Material guide
Marble
The classic white-with-grey-veining look that defines European kitchen elegance. Wide color range: white Carrara to black Nero Marquina to green Verde Guatemala. Each slab is unique.
The highest-maintenance countertop option. Needs sealing, avoidance of acids (lemon, vinegar, wine, coffee), quick wipe-up of any spill, and acceptance that it will develop a patina over time. Many marble owners consider this character; others find it frustrating.
- Baking stations (marble stays cool and dough doesn't stick)
- Bathroom vanities where cooking acids aren't a factor
- Buyers who understand patina and want stone that ages visibly
- Calacatta
- Mystery White
Acid etches marble. Lemon juice, vinegar, wine, tomato sauce, and even some cleaning products will dull the finish permanently unless the surface is re-honed. This is not a defect; it's how calcite chemistry works.
